Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one time without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will show you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.
The docking station has a handy LCD screen that shows the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
The Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its direction and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-filling.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary), it's a pain to remove the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. In addition, the X40 is quiet in its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching between modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.
Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid damaging floors by excessive back-and forth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. remote hoover can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features, making it a perfect option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with numerous additional features that set it apart. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and soiled spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There's an impressive amount of options available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
